These Terms form part of the Chef Miguel Teppanyaki Experience Agreement and Quotation. They set out how a booking works — so there are no surprises on the night. If you have any questions, just get in touch before you book.
The signed Agreement, accepted quotation, these Terms, and any written variation together form the agreement. If documents conflict, a later signed variation prevails, followed by the quotation, the Agreement form, and these Terms.
The minimum requirement is 10 menus in total, which may be any agreed combination of adult and children's menus. A smaller attending group may proceed by purchasing the minimum of 10 menus; extra portions may be shared or served as agreed.
The Client must confirm the final number of menus, menu selection and service details no later than 3 days before the event. Reductions after that deadline do not reduce the price. Additions are subject to availability, venue capacity and payment before service.
The deposit reserves the date and supports planning, administration and preparation. It is non-refundable for a Client cancellation, except where required by law or where clause 7 applies. Chef Miguel may suspend preparation or decline service if an amount remains overdue.
A cancellation must be given in writing. The deposit is non-refundable. Amounts paid above the deposit are refunded, less any non-recoverable costs already reasonably incurred for the event. If the Client cancels within 3 business days of the show, the Client remains liable for work completed, committed costs and loss that cannot reasonably be avoided, up to the full booking price. In place of a cancellation, Chef Miguel may agree to transfer the deposit to a new date within 12 months.
A request to reschedule must be made in writing and is subject to availability. If accepted, the deposit may be transferred once to a new date within 12 months. The Client must pay any reasonable non-recoverable costs, supplier price increases or additional travel costs caused by the change. Further changes are treated as a cancellation unless agreed otherwise in writing.
If Chef Miguel cannot provide the service due to illness, emergency or another circumstance within his reasonable control, he may offer a mutually suitable replacement date or refund amounts paid for services not supplied. Chef Miguel will give notice as soon as reasonably possible.
Neither party is responsible for delay or failure caused by an event beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disaster, government restriction, transport disruption, utility failure or venue closure. The parties will first try in good faith to reschedule. Any refund will account for services already performed and reasonable non-recoverable third-party costs, subject to applicable law.
The Client must provide complete and accurate dietary, allergy and intolerance information for every guest attending either the Test Run or the Main Teppanyaki Experience by the stated deadline. Chef Miguel will take reasonable care and follow agreed controls; however, food is prepared and served in environments where common allergens may be present, so an absolute allergen-free environment cannot be guaranteed. Chef Miguel may decline a request that cannot be safely accommodated. This clause does not limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Chef Miguel controls food handling, cooking order and service methods. Guests must follow reasonable safety directions and remain outside the cooking and equipment zone unless invited. Chef Miguel may pause, modify or stop flame effects or service if he reasonably considers conditions unsafe.
The Client is responsible for obtaining venue, body corporate, landlord, fire-safety or other required permissions. The Client must disclose stairs, narrow access, low ceilings, balconies, indoor restrictions and other material site conditions before acceptance. Chef Miguel may inspect the venue or request photographs and measurements. Undisclosed or unsafe conditions may require a modified show, relocation, delay or cancellation, with reasonable resulting costs payable by the Client.
The Client must provide a covered, stable and weather-protected operating area plus a viable alternative location. Rain, wind, heat, smoke or other conditions may prevent flame effects or safe service. A weather-related change made for safety does not constitute a failure to provide the agreed experience where the core cooking service can reasonably continue.
The Client provides guest tables, chairs, glassware, beverages, decorations and any celebration setup. As Chef Miguel will not travel with his entire crew, the Client will also make suitable kitchen and/or service staff available when reasonably required by Chef Miguel. The Client is responsible for ensuring that its items and nominated staff are suitable for the agreed duties. Each party is responsible for loss or damage caused by its negligence or breach. Fair wear, unavoidable heat effects disclosed in advance, and pre-existing damage are excluded.
The Client must ensure guests and the venue are ready at the agreed event times. Chef Miguel will make reasonable efforts to accommodate delay, but the menu, performance elements or duration may be adjusted to meet venue restrictions and food-safety requirements.
