A friendly run-through of how a Chef Miguel booking works — so there are no surprises on the night. If you have any questions, just get in touch before you book.
We recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks ahead to secure your preferred date, especially on weekends and during holiday periods. Your booking is confirmed once we've agreed the date, package and menu and received your deposit. Until then, dates are subject to availability.
A deposit is required to confirm and secure your booking, with the balance due before or on the day of your event as agreed in your booking confirmation. We accept credit and debit cards, bank transfer and secure online payments. Prices are quoted per booking based on your guest numbers, menu and location.
Chef Miguel caters a wide range of private gatherings and celebrations across South East Queensland. Please note that we do not cater birthday parties or Christmas celebrations. We'd be delighted to bring the teppanyaki experience to almost any other occasion — anniversaries, family gatherings, corporate dinners, weddings, engagements, proposals and more. If you're unsure whether your event is a good fit, just ask.
We understand that plans change. If you need to reschedule, please let us know as early as possible and we'll do our best to move your booking to another available date. Cancellation and deposit terms are set out in your booking confirmation — please read these when you book so you're comfortable with them.
Chef Miguel is based in South East Queensland and services the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and nearby regions. A travel fee may apply for locations outside the standard metro zone — this will always be confirmed in your quote before you book.
You provide the dining space and seating; Chef Miguel brings the grill, equipment and ingredients. A clear, flat area of at least 2.5 × 2 metres is needed for setup and the performance, along with access to power if required. Please make sure the space is ready when the chef arrives so your experience can start on time.
The show involves open flame and must be performed in a dry, safe, well-ventilated space. For outdoor bookings we strongly recommend a covered backup area (such as a patio or garage) in case of weather. For everyone's safety, please follow the chef's instructions around the grill and keep children supervised during the performance.
We happily accommodate vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free and other dietary needs — please tell us about any requirements or allergies when you book so we can prepare accordingly. While we take great care, our food is prepared in an environment where allergens are present, so we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free meal.
Chef Miguel takes every reasonable care to deliver a safe and enjoyable experience. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control, or from a failure to follow the chef's safety instructions. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Any details you share through our enquiry form or by phone and email are used only to respond to you, prepare your quote and manage your booking. We don't sell or share your information with unrelated third parties.
